About The Event
The word “revelation” in Greek is where our word ‘apocalypse” comes from. Yet, apocalypse doesn’t mean "catastrophe" but signifies an unveiling or disclosure, revealing something that has been hidden. The book of Revelation (singular) unveils a Person: Jesus Christ! It is His revelation! From beginning to end, this Biblical book focuses on Jesus Christ. The prophetic book shows His authority over His world, His victory over satan, His return in glory and His rule and reign. Throughout this book, we are blessed to see who Jesus is, what He has done and what He will do…bringing about the eternal plan of His holy, loving and promise-keeping Father. Please know: the end of the story is not about catastrophe or disaster, but about hope. Hope in our Just God and hope in Jesus, our Savior, the Lamb who was slain for us.
John wrote Revelation to suffering Christians who needed encouragement… Do you need encouragement? Do you feel overwhelmed? Where do you look for the future? Where do you find hope? More than any facts or figures, the book of Revelation helps us to learn a deeper reliance upon and faith in God, who holds all things together (Colossians 1:17). It is helpful for Christians to understand God's promises and prophecies, not as a way of escapism, but as a way to better understand our current reality and our future... while we wait for and hope in Him.
In 1 Thessalonians 4:18, Paul, writing about Christ’s Second Coming, charged believers to “comfort one another with these words.” Later, in 1 Thessalonians 5:11, again writing about the Second Coming, Paul said, “Encourage one another and build one another up.” God desires for you to be encouraged in the future that He has for you...forever with Him. God also desires for you and me to share this knowledge to others....both non-Christians and Christians alike. Understanding God's promises and prophecies (even, especially, in the challenging book of Revelation) can become a powerful tool of encouragement and evangelism, giving us greater ability to face life's challenges with hope, confidence and peace, from Him.

May we all actively share the message of hope of Christ and help others find the same peace and assurance that sustains and encourages us. He came and He is coming again, alleluia!
